No Minimum Length for Expert Deposition

I recently posted about my frustrations with expert witness fees.  A reader sent in a reference to a ruling from DC Bulla concerning the “minimum” duration aspect of it.  The ruling came from a December 2, 2016 hearing in A-12-655566-C.  The minute order is below and refused to enforce the minimum.

Colloquy re: Rule 30(h) and the Doctor’s expert fee. COMMISSIONER RECOMMENDED, motion is GRANTED, and $1,000 an hour is reasonable; if he demands more, Pltf’s counsel must speak with the Doctor; no two hour minimum, pay time in advance of deposition, advanced payment REQUIRED.
